What’s with the name?
I get asked this all the time (and no, it’s not an obsession with the squash). Let me introduce myself.
My name is Wendy Zaccagnini. I’m the owner, designer, installer, and sole employee of Zucchini Ink. The name come from most people being unable to pronounce my last name (zak-uh-NEE-nee). So it’s a fun play on words.
Who are you?
Zucchini Ink started as a side gig in 2017 when I lived in AZ. It was mostly just marketing materials and design services. I moved to NC in 2019, and restarted my business at the beginning of 2020. Yes, that 2020. Obviously it didn’t go very far, and was still a side gig.
In the summer of 2020 an opportunity presented it self, and I was introduced to man who was selling his printing and design business and looking for someone to take over.
So, in October of 2020, I quit my full time job, and starting doing this full time, doing not only design and marketing materials, but large format items.
If you had asked me 5 years ago if I thought this is what I was going to be doing? I’d have laughed at you, and said no, no way.
Would I change anything? Not for the world.
